Three Suitors

There once was a farmer who was raising 3 daughters on his own. He was very concerned about their well being and always did his best to watch out for them.
As they entered their late teens the girls dated, and on this particular evening all three of his girls were going out on a date. This was the first time this had occurred. As was his custom, he would greet the young suitor at the door holding his shotgun, not to menace or threaten but merely to ensure that the young man knew who was boss.
The doorbell rang and the first of the boys arrived. Father answered the door and the lad said, “Hi, my name’s Joe, I’m here for Flow. We’re going to the show, is she ready to go?” The father looked him over and sent the kids on their way.
The next lad arrived and said, “My name’s Eddie, I’m here for Betty, we’re going to get some spaghetti, is she ready?” Father felt this one was okay
too, so off the two kids went.
The final young man arrived and the farmer opened the door. The boy started off, “Hi, my name’s Chuck…” and the farmer shot him.

  1. I get jokes and very seldo do I not get a good joke or laugh. This joke well I guess I must be in left field cause I don’t get it.
All I got out of it was maybe her name was steak! He was going to eat her!
This joke does not cut it as I read these joke they are fairly funny and I like the jokes but this joke is a loser.

    • Joseph, to get the joke you will need to under stand the word play. I.e. joe, flow, show. Or eddie, betty, spagetti. The author of this joke left the last up for interpretation but to tell you the truth not much rhymes with Chuck.

  2. I’m not sure I get this one, but there are rhymes between the guys’ names and the girls’ names. The third guy’s name is Chuck, and he’s here for f*ck?

  3. I suppose it helps to have some what of a dirty mind to get
This joke, I loved it! It cracked me up! Good one!

  4. When it has be explained, the humor tends to go by the wayside, but in the first two the names rhyme, i.e Joe/Flo/Show and Eddie/Betty/Spaghetti….
The last guys name is Chuck, an activity that rhymes with Chuck would be F*ck (which is synonymous with sex, doing ‘it’, making whoopie, the wild thing, etc. etc.) so before he gets that far in his rhyme daddy Shotgun shoots him.
Any lights?!? Ding, ding, ding?!? Hope that helped those that seem confused!

    • I got the joke, and then said doh!
Wonder what the name of the third daughter is? Hello, I’m Chuck, I’m here to pick up Cluck. Can you lend me a buck? (I’m down on my luck). THEN Daddy can shoot him.
